Final Post :)

I found it very interesting all of the different strategies to teaching children while not causing self esteem problems. I totally give unsolicited help to students because I want them to succeed but I now see that I am only causing more problems. Allow students to come to grasp with the idea that failure is okay we just have to find an alternate strategy for success.

    I totally know where you're coming from. It is so hard not to jump in and help them when you see them struggling (especially in front of the whole class), but I guess you just have to teach your entire class that its okay to be wrong, or not know the answer.

    I also realized that my well-indended unsolicited help was more harmful than I thought, mostly because I didn't think it was harmful! It's something I'll need to be more aware of in the future, for sure.
